In my experience, yoga can be one of the most effective self-help tools for combatting mild sleep disorders. In the morning, it’s worth trying a bit of strong yoga (something that will raise your heart rate and make you sweat). However in the evening, your best bet is a few yin/restorative postures to help you unwind, de-stress and let go of any residual worries and anxieties from the day.
Here are 5 of my favourite postures for a good night’s sleep. Use props (pillows, blankets, books etc) to make yourself comfortable, hold each one for between 1 and 6 minutes, and make sure you don’t feel any pain in the joints.
